“I’m humbled about last night,” Uganda BET Award winner, Eddy Kenzo, said in reference to a top award he picked at Nigerian Entertainment Awards held in New York, USA yesterday.
Kenzo emerged winner in the African Artist of the Year category after beating Ghanaian Afro Pop singer MzVee, Rapper Sarkodie, sauti sol and Zari’s husband Diamond Platinumz.
Meanwhile, Gagamel big boss, Bebe Cool, also picked Best International Raggae/Dancehall Artist award in the African Entertainment Awards held in Ontario (Canada) on Saturday.
Bebe Cool beat Nigerian dancehall acts like Cynthia Morgan of “German Juice”, Burna Boy, Patoranking and Ghanaian Shatta Wale.
“Thanks to all my fans worldwide for the award. For it’s an award well deserved and I want to say it’s special to see the Ugandan flag being raised even higher every day not only by me but every individual Ugandan putting in the effort to make the world know about Uganda for winning not for Iddi Amin, Kony, AIDS, Ebola,” Bebe Cool said.
Bebe also congratulated Uganda Cranes that beat Comoros 1-0 in AFCON qualifiers and Mr Uganda Ivan Byekwaso who also this weekend won gold in Texas body building competitions.
Bebe Cool said he will be performing at the PTMOF charity dinner TASTE OF UGANDA Macedono community hall 237 Sackville in Toronto Canada to raise money for some teenage mothers in Uganda.
