A Kenyan model, Julia Njoroge, was Saturday picked a crown in the second edition of a global beauty pageant, Miss Eco Universe.
Njoroge who hails from Jua Kali in Laikipia County was crowned Miss Congeniality at a ceremony held in Egypt.
Standard Kenya reports that Njoroge is a final year Sociology student at a university in Belgium.
She was one of three African representatives, alongside Egypt’s Kholoud Ezz and Nigeria’s Nan Seing Lein Kham.
Natalia Carvajal Sanchez of Costa Rica was crowned Miss Eco Universe, followed by Brazil’s Lais Berte who emerged first runner up in a competition that attracted 54 participants.
Njoroge, 24, was in 2012 was declared Miss East Africa, Belgium.
