KCC walks over Rwenshama at Lugogo


The Azam Uganda Premier League defending champions, Kampala City Council (KCC) FC convincingly defeated Rwenshama 3-0 at the KCCA stadium in Lugogo on Saturday.

Joseph Ochaya and Baker Lukooya, both mid-season recruits for KCC have scored in a one sided encounter.

The other goal came deep in the second half when Mustafa Lubobo diverted Martin Kizza’s delivery into his own net.

In the other fixture on the day played at the Kavumba recreational stadium, Kira Young lost yet another game, going down by 4-0 to Police FC.

Earlier in the week (Wednesday), KCC edged Kira Young 0-1 at Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole – thanks to Derrick Nsibambi’s 60th minute goal.

At Kavumba, Umar Kasumba scored twice before other goals from Osman Mutumba and Peter Ssenyonjo subjected Kira Young to their heaviest defeat since joining the top flight league.

The league will resume on Tuesday after Monday’s Uganda Cup game between Bright Stars and Bul at Matugga.

KCC visit the red hot team, Police next at Kavumba on Tuesday.
