The Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura has transferred 20 police officers over laziness.
The transfer which affects mainly Sebei sub region in Eastern Uganda comes just a month after unknown assailants attacked Kapchorwa Central Police Station. On police officer was killed in the attack and three others injured.
A source that declined to be named in this story because he’s not authorized to speak to the media said Gen. Kayihura prdered for their transfer over laziness and negligence.
He said some of the affected officers were taken for refresher courses while others were transferred to Kasese district.
The Sebei sub region police spokesperson, Micheal Odongo confirmed the transfers which he referred to as normal.

The affected districts by the transfer are mainly Bukwo and Kapchorwa.
Last week, UPDF recovered six guns and 116 bullets from a criminal gang operating in Mt Elgon area under the command of Mr Julius Chelimo, who surrendered.
