Police chief Kale Kayihura has suspended five senior officers over alleged misconduct during the 2016 general elections.
Among those suspended is Sam Omalla, the Busoga East Police Field Force Unit commander.
Also suspended is Chemonges Seiko the Busoga East RPC, Sampala Bashir the DPC Namutumba district, Mugoda Henry the OC-Station Kibaale county and PC Akit Kevin of Kibaale all in Namutumba district.
They are accused of over political offenses during the elections.
The group allegedly committed the crimes in districts of Namutumba and Tororo.
Kayihura asked them to step aside so they can be investigated.
