The Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura has again shaken up the police force in what most people would describe as a predictable move.
In a move affected by his deputy, Martin Okoth Ochola, Kayihura has transferred most of the Kampala City police commanders to upcountry stations.
Old Kampala DPC Muhammed Kirumira whose popularity is still felt in Nansana in Wakiso district and Kisenyi for where he’s known for cracking on crime has been transferred to Buyende district in eastern Uganda.
Also transferred is Michael Kasigire from Kira Road Police Station.
David Ndaula from Kabalye Police Training School to Kasangati as OC station replacing Henry Buyondo who has been transferred to Abim.
Kirumira was replaced by Charles Nsaba who has been tranferred from Nakasongola.
Ochola also transferred Alfred Ahimbisibwe, who has been the Mukono District commander to Nebbi District as the commander.
Last month, Ahimisibwe was accused of ordering an arrest of a female private security that State Minister for Water, Ronald Kibuule, is said to have slapped at Stanbic Mukono branch.
