Kayihura sends police chiefs for refresher course


The Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura has dispatched some of the senior police officers across the country for one-year fresher course.

The course will take place at the police senior staff college in Bwebajja.

Those expected to take part in the one-year intermediate course include; ACP Herbert Muhangi the Flying Squad commander, ACP Polly Namaye the deputy police publicist, ACP Silagi Bakaleke the RPC Kampala East and ACP James Ruhweza the KMP operations commander.

Others are; ACP Sam Omara, Hassan Kihanda the Fire and Rescue operations commander, David Manzi the commandant Parliament police, Apollo Kateeba RPC Albertine region, Buruhan Zirabamuzale staff officer KMP, Mark Odongo commandant CIID Kireka and SSP Nixon Agasirwe the commander of Special Operations Unit.

The course, according to Polly Namaye, will include; leadership and other professional skills.

This comes after Kayihura transferred senior cops for beating supporters of opposition leader Kizza Besigye.
