Kayihura moves Kasese security bosses after attacks


The Inspector General of police Kale Kayihura has transferred Rwenzori region security bosses after attacks.

Men armed with machetes attacked a UPDF convoy in Hima town leading to the killing of two people last week.

Another group then attacked police and tried to grab a gun leading to the killing of four more people.

On Tuesday night, they attacked a Gomborora Internal Security Organisation Organisation (GISO) operative of Buhuhira sub-county and his brother stabbing them repeatedly.

James Mulumbira, 35 (the GISO) and his elder brother, Johnson  Mulumbira, 37, are currently admitted at Kilembe Mines Hospital.

In a handwritten message, the IGP transferred senior security officials including the Bwera police boss Muhammed Kirumiru.

He will return to head the Old Kampala Police Station.

Kayihura said the cops were bring targeted by militias in the region.
