In a press release today, IGP Kale Kayihura issued an apology for the disgraceful way in which Apollo Sansa Kabumbuli, the cultural leader of Kooki was mishandled while being arrested in plain view of the public.
The incident took place when the Kamuswaga refused to yield to the convoy of Vice President Ssekandi and the VP’s team thought that Kabumbuli was crashing into their convoy.
Sadly that was not the case but the cultural leader was casually dressed and driving himself and when confronted, he pulled out a gun.
The Special Forces Guards (SFG) who were with the the VP thought Kabumbuli wanted to harm the vice president.
The IGP’s fully apology is in the image below and indeed, it was an incident which should not have happened.
The IGP assures the public that an investigation continues and the officers involved in the arrest will be reprimanded.
