Lubaga South Member of Parliament Kato Lubwama has scoffed off his critics about his recent trip to US as part of the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA) delegation.
In a televised interview with NTV, Lubwama says he joined parliament to enjoy himself so, ‘haters should mind their business”.
While in the US, Lubwama is said to have met two Hollywood movie directors and sealed a deal to boost Uganda’s movie industry.
“I was in Los Angeles when I took pictures in shorts and haters on social media started criticizing me. I had gone to meet film directors, secure opportunities for Ugandan actors and see how we can develop Uganda’s film industry,” said Lubwama.
He added: “I came to parliament to enjoy. I have suffered enough so I have to enjoy myself to the fullest. Did people want me to suffer till I die?”
During his trip, Lubwama says he secured a deal of more than USD80,000 (about Shs272,043,996) for developing Uganda’s film industry.
Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko who took pictures with Lubwama defended him saying, their trip was productive.
“This Kato Lubwama people are criticizing gave out almost 50 motorcycles to his constituency,” he said.
