Sarah Nabikolo, the widow of the late Eriya Bugembe Sebunya, popularly known as Kasiwukira, has been arrested at the border of Uganda and Kenya as she tried to flee the country.
Kampala High court on October 12, 2016 acquitted Nabikolo of murdering her husband.
The same court however, convicted her cousin sister Sandra Nakkungu and a police officer named Jaden Ashraf who were sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Highly placed sources told this reporter that Nabikolo was arrested at the Busia border point.
She had disguised herself and was using different names, according to the source.
The source further noted that she was to be driven to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) headqarters in Kireka, Kampala where she’s to be investigated from.
However, journalists were blocked from accessing the SIU headquarters.
Last week, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) filed a notice of intention to appeal against Nabikolo’s acquittal.
