Police have busted a plot by a group of Youths under Yira United Rapid Force-YURF to carry out fresh attacks in Rwenzori region.
According to a Police Intelligence report seen by URN, the group reportedly intends to attack Kasese, Bundibugyo and Ntoronko districts with intentions of creating the Yira Republic.
The proposed Yira Republic is expected to cover three quarters of Rwenzori sub-region and part of Northern Kivu province in Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC.
Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says members of the group are currently training in DRC.
The report, which was compiled in the last month, also shows that there is a new force named National Revolution for development of Congo-NRDC that has been formed by the Bandandi tribe in Congo to fight alongside Yira United Rapid Force.
The report also indicates that a group of Esyamango-Rwenzururu Kingdom youths recruits are being trained at Muramba forest located 15 km from Mpondwe boarder in DRC.
The recruits reportedly use uniforms similar to those used by Rwenzururu Kingdom royal guards.
Last week, Wesley Mumbere, the King of Rwenzururu warned of an eminent attack on his territory.
While addressing the media, Mumbere said he had received intelligence that some of the people behind the July attacks were planning to attack his subjects in Kyatenga County in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
He claimed that, the group was already training in the jungles of Mount Rwenzori.
He asked government to tighten his security saying his Royal Guards are not a combat force but their work is to protect Kingdom officials and cultural sites.
However, police has dismissed the complaints as contradictory.
In July 2014, more than 100 people were killed attacks that have since been classified as tribal crashes between the Bamba and the Bakonjo tribes.
