Matthew Kanyamunyu, the principle suspect in the death of social worker Kenneth Akena will be produced in court over charges of murder, police has said.
Kanyamunyu will appear in court along with his girlfriend Cynthia Munwangaria and two brothers; Joseph Kanyamunyu and Moses Kanyamunyu.
Mathew and his girlfriend were arrested on November 12 following the shootng of Akena at Lugogo after their car scratched.
Akena in his dying declaration is quoted to have said the two people who took him to hospital (Mathew and Cynthia) are the ones who shot him.
However, police is yet to find the gun that was used to shoot Akena.
Police arrested Kanyamunyu’s brothers on Thursday and searched their homes.
Apparently, police has transferred Munwangari from Jinja road police to its Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka as inquiries into the mysterious murder continue.
