Kadaga, ministers taking Uganda to middle income status

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, promises to work with Cabinet Ministers in ensuring that Uganda attains a middle-income status.

Kadaga was speaking at a thanksgiving function for the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. Amelia Kyambadde, at Mpigi Police grounds, Saturday, 16th July 2016. Kyambadde is also the Member of Parliament for Mawokota County North.

Kadaga thanked the people of Mawokota for voting leaders who belong to the National Resistance Movement. She informed the people of the constituency that Kyambadde had excelled in her role of legislation and representation while in Parliament.

“I thank Amelia for the hard work she has exhibited. She has brought many laws including tax laws to Parliament for legislation,” Kadaga said.

Kadaga appluaded the minister for reviving the once sinking Ministry of Trade and promised the people of Mawokota that she will continue to help and support her in Parliament and her ministerial work.

Kyambadde thanked the Speaker for uniting all Members of Parliament.

“I have never said this but today let me confess that I really admire the Speaker. The way she does her work and the determination she exhibits while doing her duties as our Speaker is exemplary,” Kyambadde said.

The Minister said she had started a project called “Twezimbe”, which is aimed at helping the constituents generate income. She pledged to continue working with her people in eradicating poverty.

The Mpigi Woman Representative, Hon. Nakawunde Sarah Temulanda, thanked the Speaker for being considerate to issues that affect women and children.

The speaker later attended another thanksgiving function for Hon. Isaac Isanga Musumba of Buzaaya County in Kamuli district.
Hon. Isaac Musumba was re-elected to the 10th Parliament and re-appointed as a minister.

He informed his constituents that the President had promised to tarmac two roads in the district, specifically, the Buwenda-Kamuli Road and the road from Kamuli to the landing site.

Kadaga promised to follow up the pledges to ensure that they are fulfilled.
