Kadaga courts Museveni on Bunyoro palace

The Speaker to Parliament, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has requested the President to extend more support to the Kingdom of Bunyoro.

Kadaga made the request while addressing guests at the 22nd Coronation Anniversary of Omukama Solomon Gafabusa Iguru of the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom on Saturday 11th June 2016.

“The Palace should be expanded and renovated because it is becoming quite small for functions such as these. This is a great day which has drawn all of us together, so on behalf of the Kingdom, I request the President to support the Kingdom to expand the premises, since this function gets bigger in numbers every year,” Kadaga said.

The King expressed his gratitude towards the continuous support of the Kingdom by the Central Government and encouraged the people of Bunyoro to unite and work towards the development of Uganda.

The occasion was graced by a number of dignitaries including the former First Deputy Prime Minister, Henry Kajura, the Minister of Finance-designate, Matia Kasaija, and the Minister for Bunyoro Affairs-designate, Ernest Kiiza among others.

The Coronation was spiced up by a number of speeches and cultural references to celebrate the occasion.
