In what most people would describe as an unbelievable revelation, Ugandan president Yoweri Musveni has said jailed Nakawa MP and FDC deputy electoral commission chairman Michael Kabaziguruka tried to assassinate him.
President Museveni who made the revelation at State House Entebbe during the weekend discussion, the first of its kind in many years, with opposition leaders said
According to Museveni, the MP tried but failed to kill him at his farm in Kisozi.
The president also told political party leaders who met him under the auspices of the Inter-party organization for dialogue (IPOD) that he has evidence that Kizza Besigye, the jailed four time challenger for the presidency seat in the February 18 elections, Kabaziguruka and Gen David Sejusa, the former coordinator of intelligence services, were planning something dangerous against his government.
Both Kabaziguruka and Kabaziguruka are in prison after they were charged with treason and remanded.
