A total of 50 students have been expelled at Kabale Trinity College following a violent strike that started on Monday April 6, at the school in Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.
The students who were protesting poor quality meals and alleged torture by their teachers destroyed school property prompted heavy police deployment.
By yesterday, students rejected school breakfast and dodged classes.
Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, Elly Maate, said the students accused school administrators of endorsing the use of electric wires while caning students and denying them special meals during the Easter Weekend.
Joab Tumwebarize, the school Director told Uganda Radio Network that the school had expelled 50 students who masterminded the strike.
He added that that school is financially constrained to cater for the students demands.
