Opposition (FDC) iron ladies Ingrid Turinamwe and Doreen Nyanjura were today released from holding cell.
Both ladies were picked up while walking from Nakawa court on June 1, 2016 to Kampala (some say to Namugongo for prayers).
The charges upon which they were arrested remain unclear but supposedly they were holding a none authorised assembly.
It is alleged that both ladies were fondled by police when they were arrested yesterday.
On June 1, 2016, opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye was supposed to appear in Nakawa court for mention of the treason charges against him.
Many FDC people showed up at the court and Besigye was not produced.
They proceeded to pray and sing until when the police disbursed them.
Voice of America wrote an article about the Nakawa court appearance and you can read it here: http://m.voanews.com/a/besigye-treason-hearing-erupts-in-anger-after-no-show/3356970.html
Today as some of you may have read, the Attorney General Fred Ruhindi withdrew the Defiance Campaign charges against FDC while Deputy Chief Justice Steven Kavuma was hauling Besigye into court to extend the ban on Defiance and Prayers, a last minute demand by Kavuma giving Besigye no time to prepare for it.
What is yet to be understood is if IGP Kale Kayihura will withdraw his demand on the ban on defiance which he calls illegal and has asked court to ban defiance and the FDC prayers forever.
