Former premier and independent presidential candidate John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has reiterated that there is nothing personal between him and President Yoweri Museveni and that he sees a future opportunity to work together again.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday morning in Gulu, the former premier said that he holds no grudge with the NRM candidate and will not hesitate to work with him in the near future if that will bring about democratic change in the country.
“What matters are not personalities but objectivity and principles,” Mr Mbabazi said.
Time and again the former premier has pronounced himself on his relationship with the president, maintaining that the two only fell out on principles but are still “good friends”.
The president has also persisted on publicly referring to him as “young brother”.
However, Mbabazi’s proclamations come ten days to the general elections with the previous opinion polls putting a yawning gap between the two contenders.
