If Kanyamunyu was genuine, he should have alerted people around about the shooting – PI

As the mystery surrounding the shooting of a development officer Kenneth Akena last Saturday several authorities have questioned the statements reportedly made by the key suspect, city businessman Mathew Kanyamunyu that he’s innocent.

Fred Egessa, an experienced private investor (PI) is one of the latest person to question such Kanyamunyu’s defence that he and his girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari only offered to carry Akena to hospital like any other good Samaritan would do.

Kanyamunyu has also been defended by his business partner and friend Andrew Mwenda on the same line.

However Egesa contends that if Kanyamunyu was very genuine, he would have alerted people around him that someone has been shot before rushing him to hospital.

“In anyway, if you are found with a person injured in that way, you’re the suspect,” he said.

According to him, if the situation is not compromised, this matter is the simplest to deal with.

“Kanyamunyu should have run to the nearest police post. His behaviour and actions make him a key suspect. In my opinion, Kanyamumyu should be charged with murder as investigations continue,” he added.

Egesa is a private investigator and has been involved in many investigations notables among them is the murder case of city lawyer Robinah Kiyingi and recently one of businessman Wamala. His report in the latter implicated even top police bosses to have been involved in the crime.

He made the remarks in a televised interview on Nbs.
