Ibanda “sec” better known as John Fisher Senior Secondary School last Thursday staged a violent strike that left school property destroyed.
The headmaster, Brother Amans Tamale, says 35 students have been suspended for leading the strike that left classroom glass window panes broken and dormitories vandalised.
They will report back to school with their parents or guardians after two weeks.
Meanwhile, residents of Kafunda cell in Kagongo Ward, Ibanda Town Council, accused the students of killing their goats, uprooting cassava and groundnuts which they roasted and ate during the night of the strike.
Relatedly, 200 students of Citizen Senior Secondary School located only a few metres from Ibanda Secondary were also suspended on Saturday after a mega strike.
17 of them were arrested for masterminding the strike, according to the acting district police commander, Nasibu Nditta.
The director, Citizen Senior Secondary School, Happy Herbert Mayanja, said students will return to school on July 24, with their parents.
