The Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura has ended his 3-day conference in Aswa Region, Kitgum District with a message of patriotism and unity.
Kayihura, a month ago, started traversing the country meeting police officers from the regional to sub county level in what is termed as the “IGP conference”.
Moses Omujugujugu, the director communications National Crime Preventers Forum [NCPF] says the conferences were launched in Elgon region in Eastern Uganda and the first one was held in Mbale district.
The conferences also known as police fellowships are running under the theme “Monitoring, Evaluation and Rectification of the Police”
Speaking in Aswa, Kayihura told police officers that he will go to heaven because he has fully implemented the ten commandments of God.
“I am happy that the future of Uganda is predictable and is bright because all the indicators are there,” Kayihura said.
Kayihura said his administration is in the final touches for the medical insurance scheme for police officers.
He also said all barracks in Uganda must have schools where the children of the Police officers should access quality Education.
“You must be patriotic,” Kayihura urged the audience, adding, “to be patriotic you must love and embrace crime Preventers.”
He also said every generation has got a mission and that their generation’s mission was to rescue Uganda of which they did.
The police boss will again have these conferences after every two months in the same Region and place to check on the progress of things agreed upon in the last conference.
