The Information and Communications Technology Minister, John Nasasira, will not return in 2016 as Member of Parliament for Kazo constituency in Kiruhura district.
Nasasira has been the MP for Kazo since 1989, for 26 years.
The unfortunate accident happened in June 2015 while in India on state duties.
Family sources tell us he fell on the stairs and broke his femur bone.
The femur is the only bone located within the human thigh. It is both the longest and the strongest bone in the human body, extending from the hip to the knee.
He has been undergoing treatment ever since its apparently said he has been using a wheel chair.
He even had a surgery and is expected to have another one later in the year.
A the close of last month, Nasasira called a consultative meeting with the people of Kazo at his Kampala home.
The meeting was reportedly attended by chairpersons from Kazo.
He told them he would not run again as their MP due to poor health.
He even never picked nomination forms from the Kyadondo based NRM offices.
Nasasira has served as minister for works and transport, government chief whip, general duties, gender and currently ICT.
He had earlier on told the constituents he would not stand, only to turn around when they petitioned him.
For the second and last time now, he is ready to give up politics for good.
