Simon Toolit who contested on the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket for the post of MP against the National Resistance Movement (NRM)’s Jacob Oulanyah has been kidnapped.
It is alleged that Toolit who recently petitioned court contesting Deputy Speaker Oulanyah’s victory has gone missing from his home in Gulu Municipality.
According to relatives, Toolit was kidnapped in the wee hours of Wednesday morning by armed gunmen.
Toolit was expected to appear in court today for hearing of his case after Oulanyah refused to appear in court the last time their case was in court.
Police has already started with its investigations into Toolit’s mysterious disappearance.
Following the February 18th parliamentary elections in which the deputy speaker was declared winner, Toolit filed a case against Oulanyah and the EC in which he claimed he was robbed off victory.
According to the EC results, Toolit garnered 6,823 votes cast while Oulanyah won with 8,218 votes.
The two have been in and out of court since February this year.
