Government has dismissed as false rumours that they denied Carol Atuhirwe travel papers to the US for treatment.
Carol is battling throat and lung cancers.
The public took part of several activities in a campaign that fundraised Shs270m to help her get treated.
It emerged over the weekend that government was withholding her travel documents sparking furious on social media.
The ministry of health came out very fast and dismissed the rumour.
“We wish to dismiss false rumours spread about the Ministry on #SaveCarol campaign,” the ministry said in a tweet.
It said all documents will be approved by Medical Council board for Carol’s immediate departure for treatment.
It said the medical board sits on Tuesday.
“The Ministry wishes to dismiss false rumors spread about the sector on #SaveCarol campaign. We are not withholding any supporting documents that are stopping Carol from flying for treatment.”
“The Medical council board sits on Tuesday and all documents will be finalised for her immediate departure for treatment.”
However, dissatisfied Ugandans sought to know where the ministry was while the public collected funds so they [medical board] can now determine whether she goes to US or not.
