“I have fought and won many wars,” Ssabalwanyi as Gen. Museveni is famously known revealed over the weekend.
Gen. Museveni is famed for launching a guerrilla war against the government of Milton Obote and winning it by 1986.
He had earlier fought in the bush war that toppled Idi Amin’s government.
The Luweero Triangle medalist has also been at the helm of soldiers who fought wars in Liberia, Rwanda, Congo, Darfur, South Sudan, Somalia and Central African Republic.
With that military CV, Gen. Museveni says now he cannot lose a war against mere rats ( opposition).
He started by saying he would not leave power to wolves/ wild dogs.
“I cannot fail to win a war against rats,” the president told supporters who gathered in Mbarara town on Saturday for “NRM victory party”.
He later warned the opposition never to tamper or dare touch a leopard’s something something (anus).
On Monday, FDC launched a “free my vote” campaign calling upon Ugandans to boycott pro-NRM activities in protest of Kizza Besigye’s house arrest.
Speaking at Boma Grounds in Mbarara District, Museveni said his new mission now is to help people transist from subsistence farming to commercial farming.
“Also, the government is going to establish the biggest iron ore industry in Kabale and Kanungu Districts.”
The president said he will take to radios soon to explain how the country is going to develop rapidly.
“We have the foundation for this now; money, security and an educated population.”
He said the government is going to focus on creating jobs.
“Industries will be the driver of this. Educated people are easy to employ.”
The president is also being challenged in court by his former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi over election malpractice.
This comes at a point opposition is demanding an independent audit of elections amid claims of rigging.
Now is the time to wipe out the entire opposition in the next five years, he promised after winning elections.
As for calling opposition mere rats, the president has always referred to his opponents as such.
