The Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, Gen Yoweri Museveni, will today visit the home of the late army commander, Gen Aronda Nyakairima.
Aronda died in Dubai on Saturday as he was returning from South Korea where he had gone of duties concerning the national identity card project.
President Museveni and the First Lady, Janet Kataaha Museveni, were away in Japan for a 4-day working visit.
While in Japan, the President met with the Japanese Royal Couple, the Prime Minister and members of the Japanese business community.
President Museveni expressed gratitude for Japanese development support to Uganda over the last 50years.
The Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, pledged continued development support to Uganda.
The first couple returned home last evening.
“Today, President Museveni will visit the home of the late Gen. Aronda Nyakairima at 11am,” the presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, said.
She said the president would commiserate with the family.
Friends and relatives held a vigil at Buziga home yesterday.
Military and the police are manning the home where media is not allowed.
