First son Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says he is not interested in Uganda’s presidency.
He made the revelation during a pipping ceremony at the Ministry of defense headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala.
Other officers decorated include; Major General Joram Mugume who was promoted to Lieutenant General, Colonel Charles Lutaaya to Brigadier, Colonel Stephen Muzeyi Sabiti to Brigadier, Col James B Mugabe to brigadier.
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Muhoozi who was recently elevated by his father to make Special Forces Command an autonomous unit, said he has never promoted himself at one point.
Muhoozi who hinted at possible adjustments in the UPDF, clarified that he doesn’t sit on the promotions board hence cant be held responsible for his own promotion.
He scoffed at Gen David Sejusa’s alleged “Muhoozi project” saying it was premised on rumours.
Sejusa said Museveni would bump off army Generals and government officials who opposed the plot to make his son successor.
Muhoozi says he is not even interested in politics in the first place.
“If I wanted to join politics, I would have gone through the right procedures,” he told press emphasising that he loves the army.
Museveni who continues to deny any plot to raise his son as successor, even fired Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi for spreading similar rumours.
