Gen Katumba passes out airforce pilots


UPDF Chief of Defence Forces [CDF] Gen. Katumba Wamala has passed out 34 Airforce pilots and technicians.

Katumba presided over the Graduation Ceremony of the UPDAF Cadets comprising of 25 Pilots and 23 Air-Craft Technicians at Gulu Airforce Base.

The students were passed out on Saturday after a four year L-39 Course.

The training was conducted by Bulgarian Air Force masters.

The Overall best student is Stephen Bainomugisha, aged 25, who flew the AF 721 Mig 21.

Joanita Kyamuhangi, aged 27, was the only female student who flew the AF 703 Jet.

Kyomuhangi told press on the event she was determined to rock the air space in any air defence to defend her country in case of any military attacks.

The UPDAF Commander, Maj. Gen. Sam Turyagyenda asked the graduates to take good care of the aircraft.

He cautioned them against poor aircraft handling.

The CDF also tipped the students on basics of HIV/AIDs control.
