The Commander of Defense Forces (CDF) General Katumba Wamala has decorated commander of Special Force Command.
Muhoozi’s decoration comes a week after he was promoted from the rank of Brigadier to Major General by the commander in Chief General Yoweri Museveni.
Muhoozi was on May 16 promoted from Brigadier to Major General to keep him in the right rank to command the Special Forces that is to be expanded into an autonomous Service Force within the UPDF.
General Katumba decorated Muhoozi and other promoted Uganda People’s defense Forces (UPDF) soldiers in at a function held at the Ministry of defense headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala in the company of their spouses and relatives.
Those who were decorated along with Muhoozi include Major General Joram Mugume who was promoted to Lieutenant General, Colonel Charles Lutaaya to Brigadier, Colonel Stephen Muzeyi Sabiti to Brigadier, Col James B Mugabe to brigadier.
Their promotion was four days after Mr Museveni was sworn in as Uganda’s president for the next five years following his victory in the highly contested February 18 elections.
