A bus travelling to northern Uganda has caught fire along Kampala-Gulu highway.
The incident happened at Matugga, along Bombo road and a few kilometres to Kampala city.
Police fire brigade has arrived at the scene.
All passengers are safe and sound with no injuries.
The cause of the fire are not known but witnesses tell us one of the tyres got a puncture.
The bus, registration number UAP 759H, burnt at a police check point despite attempts to put out the fire.
Fire extinguishers donated by a shop attendant in the area ran out and by the time the fire brigade arrived, the bus had been burnt beyond recognition.
In January 2015, a bus which was traveling from Arua belonging to Homeland Coaches also caught fire and several passengers escaped unhurt at Kafu along the Kampala-Gulu highway.
The passengers, according to NTV, scrambled to safety before the fire turned the bus into a burned-out shell.
