Sandra Nabweteme looked sharp in-front of goal but could not help champions Kawempe from taking maximum points off Gafford Ladies in the FUFA Women Elite League match played at Kawempe Muslim secondary school’s sports ground.
Kawempe drew 2-2 with Gafford Ladies.
The rivalry between the two teams is growing each passing day since the inception of the women’s top-flight league in Uganda.
Only Gafford has managed to beat Kawempe Muskim Secondary school women FC in the league.
On Sunday it was a matter of revenge on the minds of Kawempe players but they fell to an early goal by Falone Nahimana the tormentor of the same opponents in the first round fixture in Kyebando.
Sandra Nabweteme-the reigning FUFA Women Footballer of the year hit back with two goals-one from the penalty spot and the other from a direct free kick and went through the net.
Gafford Ladies players and their technical team protested the goal.
However, play resumed and Gafford looked composed in the final part of the match and their efforts were rewarded.
They got a penalty which they converted beautifully through Annik Sophie for the match to end 2-2.
In Soroti, visiting side She Corporates won 3-0 against Eastern Heroes. Cissy Nalubega netted a brace.
The other match between She Corporates and Devine FC wasn’t played as the home team failed to show up.
She Corporates was supposed to play two games in Soroti over the weekend.
