Gulu University students on Wednesday evening went on strike burning down their multipurpose building.

The state-run New Vision reports that the students who went on rampage burnt down the main hall in protest of the University’s delay to release exam results of the last semester.

The burnt hall was used for lectures and administrators’ offices.

One of the burnt offices belongs to the University spokesperson.

The Aswa River Region Police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema told the newspaper investigations into the act had kicked off.

Police fired tear gas and bullets to contain the rowdy students.
