The FUFA Disciplinary Committee headed by Counsel Ojok Geoffrey has pronounced itself on matters regarding the provisional suspension of FSL Board Chairman Hajji Abbas Kawaase Mukasa and the clubs that failed to honour the Uganda Premier League fixtures on Tuesday 24th February, 2015.

The decisions by the FUFA Disciplinary committee were released on Saturday 11th April, 2015 at FUFA House.
The FSL Chairman and the 16 clubs playing in the Azam Uganda Premier League were invited to defend themselves before the disciplinary committee at FUFA House.

During the sessions; Hajji Abbas Kawaase Mukasa defended himself by saying he was implementing the decision of the FSL Board that asked all the clubs not to honour league fixtures on Tuesday 24th February, 2015.

The evidence was supported by the Chairperson of the Elite Clubs and other Board members who asserted that the Uganda Premier League is suspended yet FUFA had issued a circular number 1004 to the clubs to continue with league matches but not allow the broadcast of the games following an interim court order.
In light of the above, the FUFA Disciplinary Committee cautioned clubs that did not appear before the disciplinary committee.

Hajji Abbas Kawaase Mukasa’s suspension was lifted, all the clubs that sanctioned the suspension of the league were fined a sum of 500,000/- each.

The clubs are BUL FC, Sadolin FC, URA FC, Express FC, Sc Villa, Entebbe FC, Bright Stars FC, Vipers FC, KCC FC, SCVU and Rwenshama FC.

All the clubs that did not honour the fixtures of Tuesday 24th February, 2015, the Disciplinary committee confirms the decision made by the UPL Secretariat.

The sanctions take immediate effect but parties have a right of appeal.
