Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has invited the President of the Republic of Uganda as Chief Guest for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia return leg qualifier between Uganda and Togo at the Nelson Mandela Mandela national stadium, Namboole on Sunday, 15th November 2015.
The development was confirmed to the media by the FUFA President, Eng Moses Magogo during the weekly press conference on Thursday.
“We have already written to the office of the president requesting H.E President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta to attend the match against Togo as Chief Guest.”
Uganda plays Togo on Thursday, 12th November 2015 in Lome before the return leg on Sunday, 15th November 2015.
At the same press conference, Eng Magogo officially unveiled the facilitation package of $ 46,000 from the president and a chartered plane offered to the team to enable easy movement.
The FUFA president revealed that this support will help the team to prepare well for the game against Togo because the players will comfortably travel to and from Togo.
The team will travel back immediately after the game in Lome because of the chartered plane and by the Friday the team will be back than returning on Sunday which would have been the case hadn’t the government facilitated the team
“So we must be very grateful as FUFA for the support because whenever we get such support we get good results like it was with Comoros,” Tonny Mawejje said.
Later the FUFA president called upon all stake holders to play their respective roles to see that the team gets good results.
