Fufa coaches receive Caf licenses


Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson has urged the football coaches in the country to get more actively engaged in the profession so that they practice and apply the learnt theories on a regular basis.

Edgar was speaking at the ceremony held to hand over CAF certification to over 50 coaches at FUFA House, Mengo in Kampala on Friday.

“You are qualified to serve. It is unfair if you do keep the certificates at home. Football requires your services. You need to serve the game with continued practice.”

Chairman FUFA Technical Committee, Hamid Juma stated that  FUFA has a target of having over 5000 qualified coaches by the year 2019.

“We want to have as many qualified coaches as 5000 by the year 2019. FUFA is committed to having many more of these course available to all the individuals willing to learn and serve the beautiful game.”

FUFA Education Officer Jackson Nyiima, one of the coaching instructors lauded the coaches for the efforts under taken to attain the required certificates.

The ceremony was also attended by two other CAF Instructors, Mujib Kasule and Livingstone Kyambadde.

A couple of CAF A and CAF B certified coaches who attended courses in 2015 and early in 2016.

At the current situation, Uganda now has close to 2500 certified coaches across all five levels from the Beginners, FUFA Level I, CAF C, CAF B and CAF A.

Meanwhile, there is another course that is in progress at the FUFA Technical Centre Njeru for FUFA Level I coaches.

The course was organised by Jinja Veterans with 25 coaches in attendance.

At the same time, coaches aspiring for CAF ‘A’ certification continue with the last phase of the education starting this Monday at FUFA Technical center in Njeru.

CAF A Licenses:  Nantanda Majidah, Mike Mutebi, Moses Basena, Timothy Ayiekoh, Asumani Lubowa, George Semwogerere, Nyiima Jackson, Mujib Kasule, Kyambadde Stone, Mayanja Jackson, Lwanga Tom and Frank Anyau.

CAF B licenses; Fred Kajoba, Paul Ssali, Ssebagala Frank, Kintu Paddy, Lonyesi Angelo, Kebba Harunah, Lule Mathias, Mubiru Abdallah, Peter Byaruhanga, Senoga Umar, Edward Kaziba,  Namuyanja Hadijah, Onen Peter, Douglas Bamweyana, Joseph Mutyaba, Nsimbe George, Deo Sserwadda, Hussein Mbalangu, Alex Gitta, Magala James, Mbabazi Livingstone, Francis Mugerwa, Mugabi Martin, Wanyana Christine, Wasswa Richard, Lukula Charles Ayiekoh, Alex Isabirye, Antonio Flores, Kefa Kisala, Lukyamuzi Vincent, Steven Bogere, Simon Kirumira, Lutalao George, Makanga Peter, Morley Byekwaso, Mujabi Robert, Ssali Tom, Bisaso Shafic and Mawa Harunah.
