Fufa apologises for Kobs Alexandria disaster

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has apologised to Ugandans after Uganda Kobs was thumped 4-0 in the Egyptian capital, Alexandria.

Here is the full apology:

Our Dear Fans, it was such an unwelcome performance from us.

We really wanted it better but our opponents proved stronger.

We did not take our chances when they came by and to dine at the high table you must replace a man.

Egypt are the current Africa U.20 Champions and this is their new generation.

Egypt and Egyptian Clubs have always been a challenge to Ugandan sides even when we had golden generations of players.

It is their style against ours. We need a bigger strategy against them

U23 team is work in progress and not the end. It is a script which is part of the Project Cameroon 2019.

It is also an experience for Bakaki, Semazi, sekisambu, Bukenya etc at this level.

They are definitely better than not having registered in this competition. We shall definitely put up a fight in the return leg and despite the end result we shall get more for the players.

Remember the overall objective is not to qualify for the finals of u.23 but the senior team qualification to AFCON.

It is Our Game, It is Our Country
