The former Minister for Works and Transport, Eng. Andruale Awuzu has passed away.
Awuzu died today at Arua Regional referral hospital where he had been admitted after battling diabetes and hypertension for a long time, according to his relatives.
The 75-year-old engineer served as Vurra County MP in Arua District and was replaced by Simon Ejua, who was also appointed as State Minister for Works and Transport. He also served as an Engineer in the army in 1974.
He is remembered for championing the construction the Karuma-Pakwach-Nebbi-Arua road to tarmac as the region had suffered for decades with bad roads. He even ensured that the roads within Arua district are upgraded to murram.
