Former Mawokota South Member of Parliament Henry Mutebi Kityo has passed on.
Kityo is said to have today succumbed to diabetes at Nkozi Hospital where b had been admitted.
In 2005, Kityo, a member of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) lost his Mawokota South MP seat to John Seguya Lubyayi in the party primaries.
He had been accused of being a supporter of former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Kizza Besigye which he vehemently denied.
Kityo shot to the limelight when he in 2005 proposed that Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni be allowed to qualify for two more terms although term limits still be retained in the Constitution ahead of the 2006 presidential elections.
Kityo was at the time a member of the parliament’s legal committee.
