The body of former Foreign affairs minister Joshua Kibedi Wanume Wednesday arrived into the country aboard Emirates Airline ahead of his burial on Saturday.
The body was received by his family members including his widows Rose and Elizabeth Kibedi and his cousin the second deputy prime minister Kirunda Kivejinja.
Kivejinja told the media that president Yoweri Museveni who helped with the repatriation of Kibedi’s body is expected to attend his burial in Iganga.
Kibedi, a former minister in ex-president Idi Amin’s government died on June 13 at St Thomas hospital in London.
Zaake Wanume Kibedi a younger brother to the deceased said his elder brother was a mentor, who together with Kivejinja gave him a three-day induction training on how to carry on the mantle of an ambassador when he was appointed as Uganda’s ambassador to the Nordic countries.
