The Makerere LCV Councillor has given government more especially the first lady and Minster of Education Hon. Janet Museveni an ultimatum following the closure of public universities.

In a hash press statement, the self-proclaimed Iron lady had this to say.

“It is such a saddening state that the doors of the ivory tower, the Harvard of Africa, are still closed because as expected, the regime has failed to honor the promise of Salary increment for the non-teaching staff.

Whereas the state house budget is 600 million daily, thousands of students of this nation have gone without education because the non-teaching staff who are the fuel to our institutions are ill facilitated.

I therefore call upon the teaching staff, the students body, community leaders and the general public to stand in unity with the non-teaching staff and put an end to the political games of this failed Regime.

Let it be clear to Mrs Museveni (Minister of Education and Sports) and Mr Museveni, that come the 13th of this month (The new reporting date) and Makerere University is not opened, We shall enact article 29 of the Uganda constitution with a sea of red gowns on the streets of Kampala to the Ministry of Education and Sports to demand the right to education for all the children of this nation and not the privileged few who study abroad.”

To the Makerere University community, always remember that when “aliens attack, I am Ready”.
For God and My Country.
