FDC’s Ingrid Turinawe arrested again


Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] secretary for mobilisation Ingrid Turinawe has been arrested.

Ingrid was cornered as she left High Court in Kampala where Kizza Besigye had appeared for the hearing of his bail application.

Police cut her off, rounded her, put her into a waiting van and drove her off.

Simon Wabyera, a student at Makerere University was also arrested.

Ingrid is accused of trying to lead a procession to the city centre.

Only a fortnight ago, Ingrid was arrested, charged for assaulting a police officer and released on police bond Friday.

Police arrested Turinawe in Nakawa where she was attending the trial of Kizza Besigye alongside her driver and an activist Joram Kyenjojo.

They were detained at Jinja Road Police Station for defying police orders before being charged with assaulting a police officer.

Meanwhile, Ingrid’s driver Davis Kamutima was reportedly clobbered by police and hospitalised in Naguru before being later transferred to Nsambya hospital for more treatment.
