The presidential senior press secretary, Don Wanyama, has warned opposition Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] against causing anarchy in the country.
According to Wanyama, FDC is out of order by organizing their parallel independence celebrations.
Earlier today, police blocked the home of Kira Municipality MP, Ssemujju Nganda and that of Dr Kizza Besigye ahead of the planned parallel events in the Kampala suburb of Katwe.
Uganda Police has since encouraged the opposition party to attend the main celebrations in Luuka district.
While appearing live on “NBSFrontline” last night, Besigye revealed that the plans are still on to hold the event.
“They should go to Luuka for the official events and make their statements there,” Wanyama advised.
“There cannot be a government within a government. This is a national event.”
According to him, Dr Besigye is always looking for an opportunity to portray Uganda as a country under total anarchy.
“A group of radicals alongside Dr Besigye have hijacked FDC. On Monday, they wanted to create confusion.”
He says the media is glossing over Besigye and is itself under trial for not asking the right questions about Besigye.
“Where in the world do politicians block roads?” he wondered.
