FDC official and Nakawa legislator Hon Michael Kabaziguruka has been arrested.
He is currently detained at Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka.
The legislator who trounced sacked Attorney General Fred Ruhindi in 2016 elections is accused of illegal gun possession.
We talked to his wife who has been blocked from seeing him at Kireka.
“Police came to our home early in the morning. They said my husband was suspected of possessing guns and searched the house.”
She said after searching and failing to find any gun in the house, policemen took her husband to Kireka to record a statement.
Kabaziguruka was once arrested on similar charges.
At the start of June, police besieged his home located in Luzira claiming he was planning to cause chaos during the trial of Kizza Besigye.
Besigye who is imprisoned in Luzira over treason charges was never produced at the Nakawa Magistrates Court on June 1.
Police had a month before surrounding Kabaziguruka’s home still over Besigye.
