Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) are still missing after they were allegedly kidnapped by unknown assailants.
According to FDC party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, some of the party officials missing include Zeridah Kakayi, the FDC vice chairperson for Youth and Harold Kaija, the party deputy secretary general for Administration.
Ssemujju added that Boniface Okori, a guard at the FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi is also still missing.
He made the revelation on Monday while addressing journalists at the weekly press conference at FDC head offices in Najjanankumbi.
It is alleged that Kakayi was kidnapped on May 11 by unknown assailants who bundled her into a waiting vehicle outside Christ the King Parish Church in the heart of Kampala city. She had gone to attend prayers but when she crossed the road to buy air time, she did not make it back. She has not been seen since.
However, police refutes claims of arresting FDC leaders.
According to the force’s spokesperson Fred Enanga, police is holding Kampala thugs and not FDC members.
Enanga said police arrested more than 160 suspects from President Yoweri Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony at Kololo Independence Grounds on May 12 and Jinja Road.
