FDC diehard ejects Finance minister

Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] candidate Emmanuel Ogiertho has ejected Fred Omach, State Minister of Finance as Member of Parliament in Jonam County, Nebbi district.

The race was between Ogiertho (FDC), Omach (NRM) and Richard Oryeda (independent).

Omach was in a slight lead as per the provisional results, only to be overwhelmed by the end of the vote tallying session.

Ongiertho was declared winner after he got 21,443 votes against Mr Omach’s 21,154 votes.

Omach rushed to the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Nebbi District challenging election results.

He argued that most of his valid votes were declared invalid and that his agents were chased from polling stations on top of irregularities in the counting and tallying process.

At the end of the recount, Ongiertho was still declared winner, ejecting the minister once and for all.
