FDC candidate wins Kyambogo guild seat

Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] guild presidential candidate Lawrence Lugalavu is the winner of Kyambogo University guild seat.

Lugalavu was declared winner on Wednesday after beating NRM’s Solomon Ngoboka, his closest rival.

Kyambogo electoral commission (EC) chair Felix Hirya says Lugalavu picked 3,010 votes followed by Ngoboka with 2051 votes.

Lugalavu beat Ngoboka with a margin of 959 votes.

Fahad Bahat and Michael Aisu who both stood as independent came in 3rd and 4th place respectively.

Lugalavu will replace Ian Kafuko of the National Resistance Movement who won last year.

“Congratulations and thank you for the honour. We are proud of you,” FDC toasted to Lugalavu in a statement.

Earlier, Patrick Owona Komakech who also stood as an independent was disqualified from the race as his documents were discovered to be fake.
