The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has invited President Yoweri Museveni to their delegates conference scheduled for tomorrow.
Kyadondo East MP, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, also FDC party Spokesperson, told press that they have invited all other parties’ chairpersons and secretary generals to the event.
“We invited all political parties’ chairpersons and secretary general including NRM,” he said.
“We think NRM stands to gain more so that next time they don’t have to box each other picking a sole candidate.”
Ssemujju said there is need for parties like NRM to learn that two people in a party can compete and shake hands and life goes on.
“We may have a presidential candidate by the end of next week,” he noted.
It is at the same Wednesday conference that delegates will elect party flag bearer between Mugisha Muntu and Kizza Besigye.
The two leaders already confirmed that they will support the other once elected to lead the party as flag bearer.
It is not clear whether Museveni or at least his secretary General will grace the event.
