A picture alleged to be that of Go Forward security chief, Christopher Aine’s dead body has been making rounds on social media.
“I’m all in tears. Christopher Aine is dead,” political analyst, Charles Rwomushana, wrote while sharing the picture.
Before, members of the Jobless Brotherhood and Uganda Poor Youths Movement opened a hunt for Christopher Aine.
This came after Police chief, Kale Kayihura, had offered a Shs20m bounty for any information regarding Aine’s whereabouts.
The youth activists led by Norman Tumuhimbise, the National coordinator of the Jobless Brotherhood launched a manhunt for Aine at the home of his mother, Jennifer Namuleme, in Katale zone in Semuto town council in Nakaseke district.
Tumuhimbise said they intended to raise awareness about the disappearance of Aine and pile pressure on Police to produce him in court.
In earlier hours of Thursday morning, Namuleme and her daughter Ritah Babirye, stormed the Central Police Station in Kampala demanding to see the young man.Police denied having Aine in their cells.
Meanwhile, his two brothers; Michael Mubiru and Moses Musasizi, had raided KCCA mortuary in Mulago looking for the body.
Here, they were joined by the police surgeon, Dr Moses Byaruhanga, and police spokesman, Fred Enanga.
They searched the morgue but did not find Aine’s body.
Speaking to press, Aine’s sister, Babirye, said the picture of the dead body shared on social media resembles that of her brother.
She identified the scar above the eye and a gap between the teeth.
Enanga, on the other hand, says they are still making investigations incase the picture was photoshopped and is not that of Aine.
