Former Uganda National Examinations Board [Uneb] chairman, Fagil Mandy, believes First Lady Janet Museveni will achieve a lot for the ministry of Education.
An educationist, Mandy urged all ministries in Uganda to come out with set targets, saying settings targets is a very good start for ministry of education.
He said children are being brought up by TV and the internet hence need to spend time with their children.
He also urged the minister of Education and Sports to ensure physical education [PE] is taught to children in schools.
“How can you be a minister of sports and Physical Education is not being taught in schools? If I was president I would send you home.”
Mandy said from her previous performance, Hon. Janet Museveni is a performer.
“What she did in Karamoja was great!”
Before her appointment as minister of Education, Janet served as the minister for Karamoja Affairs where she registered several achievements.
Veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda earlier on praised the Janet for securing Uganda an African Cup of Nations qualification during her reign as minister of Education.
“And just when the First Lady takes over the ministry of education and sports does Uganda qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations finals after 38 years in limbo,” Mwenda said.
He added: “What magic has she introduced in our sports? And what does the future hold for Uganda under her leadership in sports? Let me hear you heckle, quarrel, yell and insult.”
